When it comes to relationships with in-laws, we all know they can be tricky.
Some people get on with their mother or father-in-law like a house on fire, while others go out of their way to avoid being in a room with them.
And it seems there are those who will go to drastic measures to ensure they don’t have to see them ever again.
A TikTok user, named Madison Beenau, has caused a stir on social media after claiming that her aunt tried to “put a hit” on her grandmother (the aunt’s mother-in-law) to prevent having her attend her son’s wedding.
In a video on the platform, Madison said: “Alright, buckle up, here is some tea about my family.
“My cousin got engaged a year ago and while creating the guestlist for his wedding, he said he was going to invite my grandma, who is 85 and my aunt, my cousin’s mom, not my biological aunt, decided she didn’t want my grandparents to be invited, those would be her in-laws.
“So instead of just voicing that opinion, she decided to hire a hitman to kill my grandma.”
I’m sorry… WHAT?!
She continued to explain all in a follow-up video, as those watching needed more info.
“So I guess my aunt called this hitman or hired a hitman and was being really loud about it and my uncle overheard and was like, ‘Oh this is not good’.
“Instead of calling the police like a normal person would, he called his sister and he said, and I quote, ‘I think a crime has been committed.
“So his sister being of sound mind called the police immediately and the police intervened and my grandma is still alive and it’s fine.”
Madison goes on to say that her aunt is not in jail, but her family is building a case against her.
She adds: “Said wedding is in two weeks and my grandma is still sad that she’s not invited.”
The original video has been watched over 1.7million times and garnered thousands of likes and comments.
One person replied: “I forget how crazy the world is sometimes…”
Another wrote: “Well that escalated quickly…”
A third said: “… because that’s EASIER THAN JUST NOT INVITING THEM?!”
“This is not where I thought we were going,” proclaimed someone else.
